It's a new day, a new month, but more importantly a new year. And there is nothing better than a new year, to help refocus your goals and priorities. Starting today be intentional about the spirital investment you are making in your kids lives. It's not enough just to bring them to church on the weekend, you have to shepherd their hearts and pour into them to see them flourish. We try to help a little in this area. Each week we give each child a God time card, as well as a parent cue card. The parent cue card gives a passage for you to read with your child, to review the Bible story they learned about. We know kids learn best by repetition and I can't think of a better way to be intentional, than reading and sharing God's word with your kid.
It's only one story, once a week. You can do that. In fact God commands us too. I leave you with one of our favorite verses here at ShoreKids, Deuteronomy 6:5-8
5Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
